The Reel Materials
The GR8 is fully machined with cold forged, tempered EN AW7075 aluminum (which is stiffer and more corrosion-resistant than aeroplane grade aluminum), housing our durable sealed carbon system drag. The GR8 features a super rigid frame-to-spool connection, a widened palming rim, a large/vented arbor for high retrieve rate, and our ergonomic drag knob you'll find easy to handle, even during the drill of af huge fish.
Finished with our Core Collection’s unique porting pattern and spoke aesthetic, the GR8 will be your go-to reel for the full range of heavy duty fishing situations.
The Drag
With its smooth engagement and consistent, dependable, and repeatable pressure, our Drag allows you to fish with confidence knowing your tippet is protected.
The drag itself has a steady braking register and with two rounds on the drag knop it goes from approx. 0 to 9 kg. on the 9/11 model. More than enough to land most fish in both fresh- and salt water
Proprietary high-grade carbon, easily and repeatedly handles high pressure and quickly dissipates the kinetic energy of that running fish into thermal energy. Tailored configurations allow us to create specific drag systems for each model, size, and fishing application, and the entire system itself is sealed to keep out water, sand, grit, and salt.
